The internet connection was sluggish at my apartment. So I didn't update the diary on that day. Instead I went out with new friends to practice my oral English. My life in Manila was busy with classes and sightseeing. I had a memorable experience in Manila. I hope I will go back to meet my friends in the Philippines again. Friendship forever.

我的英文日记 - 倒霉的一天

我的英文日记 12/8/2013 It’s a raining day with gusty winds in Manila. Classes and office work in my language centre have been suspended due to Typhoon Labuyo. I was sitting at a café surfing internet and reading the local news as well as look up new vocabularies in my e-dictionary. After few hours of self-study, I’ve learnt that “weight wait”, “flour flower” “their there” are pronounce exactly the same. Here are some of the new phases of the day. “Put something off” means postpone an event. Example: Let’s put the meeting off until Wednesday. “Take after” means look like someone Example: She takes after her mother. “Not a sausage” means nothing at all. Example: Have you heard from Tom yet? No, not a sausage! At the end of the day, I had a cup of coffee and savoury frankfurter for dinner. I rejoice that today has been another fruitful day.(L)

I'm feeling exhausted and lonely now. The older we get the more fear we have. This is indeed a big challenge for me coming to Manila for English studies. A city that is totally new to me and I don't have any friend here. What's more, I have to stay here alone for few months. My goals are to achieve IELTS 7.0 and able to converse well in English. I have paid lots of money to pursue these dream and I hope all my sacrifices are worthwhile. Last but not least,I hope my perseverance will pay off.
